This is a one of a kind piece of wearable art made for the Five and Diamond Eighth Annual Headgear Art Show and shown on June 12, 2020.

A confrontational amalgam of horn, tusk, claw, tooth, feather, and quill forms, arrayed around and projecting forward from the face and jaw, rendered in layered black rubber with translucent accents. An homage to 19th century occult writer Eliphas Lévi; best known for his still-iconic drawing of the Sabbatic Goat Baphomet, itself a confrontational amalgam of disparate and contradictory features, and an enduring symbol which has been embraced by countless religious, occult, artistic, and pop-cultural traditions through to the present day.

MATERIALS USED

Hand cut rubber spines with forged aluminum armature interior.

WEARING INSTRUCTIONS

Worn across the front of the face as a mask, with the terminal sections hooked behind the ears as one would don a pair of glasses. May also be tipped upward and worn atop the head in a crown or tiara configuration. Please refer to provided images for illustration of how to wear. Aluminum understructure may be gently reshaped to fit the individual wearer.
