Gordlinia is a remarkably beautiful and uncommon tree. A cross between two superb southeastern US trees, Franklin tree (Franklinia alatamaha) and Loblolly Bay (Gordonia lasianthus), it boasts each species' best traits. Large, fragrant white flowers bloom in summer and glossy semi-evergreen leaves make this a deserved specimen for any plant lover's garden. This small but stately tree will do best in a protected location.
